Characteristics - A tall evergreen tree. Cypress was highly valued as both incense and medicine. It was dedicated by the Egyptians and Romans to gods of the underworld. Stimulating, uplifting and cooling. Constricting to the circulatory system.
Properties & benefits - Gives strength and calm to the nervous system, cleansing the spirit. Useful for any condiditon where there is an excess of fluid due to it's astringent effects. Regulates the reproductive system. Deodorant and astringent effect to the skin. Making it useful for excessive perspiration, and oily skin.
Blends well with - bergamot, cedarwood, clary sage, lavender, lemon, mandarin, marjoram, orange, pine, sandalwood
General Methods of Use of Essential Oils -
Inhalation - 1-2 drops on a tissue or 3-4 drops in a bowl of warm water. (this method not to be used for asthmatics) Baths - 5-6 drops in a full drawn bath. Mix well just before getting in. Massage - add 2-3 drops to every 10ml of carrier oil
