Characteristics - Small spreading vergreen tree with fleshy orange fruit. Name originates from the fruit that was a traditional gift to the mandarins of China. Long regarded as a safe children's remedy in France.
Properties & benefits - Refreshing and upliftin , so good for anxiety or depression. Calming to the nervous system and a digestive system tonic. Toning to the skin and can help oily or congested skin.
Blends well with - other citrus oils, lavender and spice oils.
Cautions - May be phototoxic - not proven - but for safety avoid use on skin which is to be exposed to the sun.
General Methods of Use of Essential Oils -
Inhalation - 1-2 drops on a tissue or 3-4 drops in a bowl of warm water. (this method not to be used for asthmatics) Baths - 5-6 drops in a full drawn bath. Mix well just before getting in. Massage - add 2-3 drops to every 10ml of carrier oil
