Characteristics - A perrenial shrub with hairy leaves and small pink flowers. Also known as "rose geranium" due to its rosy aroma. Balancing effect.
Properties & benefits - Has a balancing effect on the nervous system, lifting the spirits and being particularly good for stress-related conditions. Also balances the skin, including the production of sebum, also good for encouraging healing of the skin.
Blends well with - basil, bergamot and other citrus oils, lavender, patchouli, sandalwood
Cautions - Generally non-toxic, but may induce contact dermatitis in certain sensitive individuals
General Methods of Use of Essential Oils -
Inhalation - 1-2 drops on a tissue or 3-4 drops in a bowl of warm water. (this method not to be used for asthmatics) Baths - 5-6 drops in a full drawn bath. Mix well just before getting in. Massage - add 2-3 drops to every 10ml of carrier oil
