Cocoa Butter has hydrating & moisturising properties, is gentle on the skin, & easily absorbed

Cocoa butter has a smooth texture, natural emollient abilities, contains natural antioxidants, and chocolatey aroma. All of which help make it a widely used cosmetic ingredient.

It contains oleic acid, a mono-unsaturated fatty acid that is highly compatible with our skins natural sebum. This allows the butter to be more easily absorbed into the skin, and therefore suitable for all skin types.

It also contains stearic acid, a skin-softening fatty acid that acts as an emulsifier. In simple terms this means that the butter helps bind oil and water together, preventing products from separating. This combined with its solid nature results in tight emulsions. A tight emulsion is when there is little room for microbesgerms to move and grow. This helps products to remain fresher for longer.

Cocoa butter is one of the most stable fats and has a reputation for being an excellent soothing ingredient for those with sensitive skin.

The velvety texture, pleasant fragrance and emollient properties of cocoa butter make it perfect for cosmetics & skincare products such as soaps, lotions and lip balms.

Is solid at room temperature, but melts at body temperature – when melted & added to cosmetic formulations it creates a smooth, creamy texture whilst completely retaining all of its beneficial properties.

Our butter is a hard pale cream to yellow fat extracted from the cacao bean. Unrefined and retains its delicate chocolate-like aroma.
